General Requirements
To be granted a student visa, you must provide evidence that satisfies the entry requirements applicable to you and your country of origin (different countries have different visa requirements).
DIAC (the Department of Immigration and Citizenship) assess you on whether you have enough money, your English proficiency, how likely you are to comply with the conditions of your visa and other factors they consider relevant. To apply for a visa you will need to go to your local Australian Immigration Office. Additional information on visa issues is available from your Immigration and Education Agent, but independent advice is also available on the DIAC website www.immi.gov.au.
You will be required to show that you also meet the selection requirements for any Strathfield College course that you are hoping to enrol in. These responsibilities must be maintained after your arrival in Australia but it is a requirement that you are aware of these before you sign your enrolment form.
Attendance
Students on a student visa must attend 80% of all courses. If your attendance falls to a level where it cannot average 80% for your course, the College is required by law to advise DIAC (the Department of Immigration and Citizenship) immediately.
